Yantai Port, located in Shandong province, has exported clothing worth US $99.32 million in the first half of present year, a significant rise of 34.1 percent compared to exports done the in same period in 2006.
Around 6.31 million pieces of clothing, with a rise rate of 19.1 percent, were exported. The export value of just five local clothing manufacturers accounted for about 60 percent of the total export done. Of these, Qixia Garments Group's export value increased five-fold.
This boom in export is also because from this year, the Government of Yantai began to actively support big clothing enterprises. Hence, Qixia Garments Group became the first clothing enterprise in Shandong province to get the exemption certificate for export clothing.
