In December 2004, Turkey initiated anti-dumping drive against Chinese fleece and chenille fabrics, involving US $65.83 million. During January 2006, the country levied duty of US $1.5 per kg on fabrics coming from China.

In 2006, China's exports to Turkey were worth $70.28 million, showing a plunge of 2.11 percent on year-on-year basis.

In the first five months of this year, China exported 5.69 million meters to Turkey, resulting in a 22.5 percent drop compared to the same period of corresponding year. Average export price was set at $1.87 per meter, an increase of 16.51 percent over last year.

Although decline rate was not significant, the problems of undervalued declaration and invoices triggered conflicts and led to trade frictions.
