Apart from the numerous anti-dumping investigations started against China, many new trade barriers have emerged which are causing more harm to the country's exports.
Noticeable among these are anti-allowance methods, animal and plant quarantine and American '301' and '337' investigation. However, the technique trade barrier has exceeded the effects of anti-dumping investigations, becoming the main obstacle in Chinese export trade.
The American Government recently accepted the application of the US curtains industry about limiting import of Chinese curtains. The Government will decide whether to accept this and other similar applications.
From 1979 to 2004, a total of 34 countries started 673 investigations against China. Of these, 600 were anti-dumping investigation cases, involving over 4,000 categories of Chinese products. About US $1.91 billion worth of export trade was affected.
