Indian Minister of State for Trade and Industry Ashwani Kumar, leading a high-level FICCI delegation, is currently visiting Israel.
Deputy Prime Minister and the Minister for Trade and Industry, Ellie Yishai, met with Kumar and discussed the various ways to strengthen the bilateral trade relations between the countries.
Israel has put forth a proposal to sign free trade agreement (FTA) with India which will provide definite boost to the two-way economic cooperation.
Kumar expressed keen desire to develop trade and assured that the FTA proposal will be seriously considered. He added, “The focus on multi-dimensional, multi-faceted comprehensive economic development can give a new dimension to Indo-Israel bilateral ties.”
Israel also plans to set up second trade office in India, most probably in Bangalore, which offers abundant industrial resources and advanced technological support.
Several leading players have also shown interest in investing in India and establish long-lasting collaborations.
