In the first half of 2007, export of eight categories of Chinese clothing decreased sharply. The export quantity of women tatting clothes was 23.91 million sets, down 20.92 percent than the same period last year. Its export value stood at US $158 million, down 25.21 percent. The average export price of women tatting garments was $6.62 a set, down 5.43 percent.
The export value of women tatting bathrobes was $156 million, down 19.10 percent with average export price being $2.84 a piece, down 16.96 percent. Its export quantity was 54.68 million pieces, down 2.62 percent than the same period last year,
However, the export value of women tatting down clothes was $110 million, down by 14.26 percent; the average export price was $19.93 a piece, up 8.85 percent. Export quantity of the commodity was 5.54 million pieces, down 21.22 percent than the same period last year.
Value of Chinese bedspread, whose export quantity at 29.25 million pieces was down 14.96 percent, stood at $101 million, showing a downward trend of 17.41 percent. Also, its average export price was $3.46 a piece, down 2.81 percent.
Export value of China-made bras was $853 million in the first half of 2007, down by 17.03 percent. Its export quantity was 775 million pieces, down 10.69 percent than the same period last year. The bra was exported at an average price of $1.10 a piece, down 6.78 percent.
As far as export value of artificial short fibre textile is concerned, it stood at $304 million, down by 16.69 percent. Its export quantity was 393 million meters, down 20.58 percent. The average export price of artificial short fibre textile was $0.77 a meter, up 4.05 percent.
Pure mixed chemical textile clocked an export value of $147 million, down 9.54 percent; its export quantity was 239 million meters, down 6.87 percent compared to the same period last year. Also, its average export price was $0.62 a piece, down 3.13 percent.
Lastly, the export value of cotton color-weaving cloth was $187 million, down 10.29 percent. Its export quantity was 137 million meters, down 15.96 percent and its average export price was $1.37 a meter, up 7.03 percent.
