Indian Government has removed the anti-dumping duties imposed on South Korea and Turkey for imports of partially-oriented yarn of polysters (POY).

The Finance Ministry levied the duties in 2001 and revised to 0.43 - 0.54 dollar per kg for Turkey and 0.6 dollar per kg for Korea in 2002. However, the Government has withdrawn the duties which were to expire by the end of this year.

The Directorate General of Anti-dumping and Allied Duties (DGAG) concluded that there was no valid reason for continuing anti-dumping duties on imports of POY exported from Korea and Turkey and suggested its withdrawal.
