Total foreign trade expands further

Total foreign trade amounted to US $1.369713 trillion from January to August this year, an increase of 24 percent over the same period last year.

Of this, exports reached $765.736 billion, up 27.7 percent. Imports marked $603.9 billion, up 19.6 percent, realizing a trade surplus of $161.75 billion.

Customs statistics show that China's monthly foreign trade value registered $197.735 billion in August, growth of 21.6 percent.

Exports of the month hit $111.3 billion, up 22.7 percent. Imports of the month were worth $86.3 billion, rising 20.1 percent. August trade surplus touched $24.974 billion.
