Export price of trousers elevates in July

Statistics revealed by General Department of Customs show that, exporting price of the trousers during July 2007, reached highest level since the beginning of the year. The prices were quoted at US $6.08 per piece, FOB on average, posting 8 percent rise over previous month and 35 percent hike compared to May.

Exporting price of the product in the first seven months of 2007 reached $5.01 per unit.

In July, the country shipped 22 million trousers worth $133.7 million, up 23 and 22.5 percent, respectively, over same period of 2006.

During January to July around 151.9 million trousers were exported, which valued at $760.5 million showing a growth of 35 and 20 percent in compared to the corresponding period in 2006.

Trouser accounts for 18 percent of total textile and apparel exports turnover of Vietnam in this period.
