Minister of Industry and Trade, Vu Huy Hoang, recently announced that in the first nine months of this year, Vietnam's export turnover to Asian countries touched US $24.5 billion, showing a growth of 17 percent from same period in 2006.
However, a down trend in exports to other ASEAN countries as well as to China, can be seen, added Hoang.
Major products shipped to asian countries include textile, garment and agriculture products, among others.
Ministry officials forecast that the total exports turnover to the Asian countries in 2007 may climb to $48 billion, higher than $39.6 billion achieved in 2006.
