EU is an important export area for Weifang city and enterprises here are anxiously awaiting the cancellation of export quota imposed on Chinese textile by EU.

After investigations from EU authorities, companies located in Weifang city, Shandong Province have become cautious. However, they hope to get hold of that market by developing new and higher technology products.

Weifang city has over 1500 textile export enterprises representing over 30 percent of the total export value of the region. Last year, the city has earned more than US $1 billion from the shipments of textile and clothing products. Experts estimate that export value of local textile and clothing products will go up.

According to a Government official of Weifang city, with the rising standards of health and environmental-protection in EU, enterprises operating in the region must improve on their product quality and install higher technology for quality output.
