A recent statistical report from Ministry of Industry and Trade (MOIT) shows that the country reaped US $39.059 billion turnover from exports in the first ten months of 2007 and only in October the figure touched $4.2 billion.
Among all export products, textile and apparel showed a strong growth of 31 percent during this ten month period in comparison with same period last year, which totaled at $6.41 billion.
The country earned revenue of $3.19 billion from exports of footwear.
From January to October this year, Vietnam spent around $47.9 billion on imports, representing a year–on–year growth of 30 percent with major products including auto parts and machines for local production.
