A total of 3,644 Chinese textile enterprises have been qualified for the 2008 textile export quota to America and another 21 are being scrutinized for the same. This will also include one enterprise from Heilongjiang Province and 20 from Shenzhen city.
In addition, entry by other textile companies is also being reported to the Chinese Commerce Department. However, it is believed that under the pretext of false export performances, many enterprises have obtained export quota by fraudulent means. As a result, the Department has decided to postpone the first bid of export quota to the November 13.
Besides, among the 3,644 qualified Chinese textile enterprises, those with an export value exceeding US $0.5 million in the first seven months of 2007, will be reexamined. There is no doubt about the fact that scamming of quotas has immensely impacted upon the authentic Chinese textile export enterprises.
