According to Wenzhou Customs statistics, in the month of October, total export and import value of Wenzhou city touched US $963 million, up by 18.2 percent compared to same month last year.
Of this total, the export value was $792 million, showing a boost of 17.6 percent and the import value realized $171 million, a rise of 20.9 percent. The trade surplus in this period reached $620 million.
Although, EU levied anti-dumping tax on Chinese leather shoes, it did not affect the export of Wenzhou city's leather shoes, which showed a continuous growth. The leather shoes' export value of the region in October, was $159 million, soared to 8.82 percent than the same period last year. Sales volume touched 34.24 million pairs, mounting by 0.69 percent.
Of the total, Wenzhou exported 1.1 million pairs of leather shoes $9.86 million. Although the monetary value of the product increased by 4.06 percent, the export quantity has fallen by 10.85 percent due to rise in the average export price which surged by 16.73 percent.
