Apparel exports to Korea move up

According to official sources from Ministry of Industry and Textile, country's textile and apparel export turnover, to Korea reached US $58.8 million, in the first nine months 2007. This was up by 7.6 percent compared to the same period of last year.

Products shipped to the Korean market include fabrics, cotton towel and overcoat. These enjoyed a strong surge in the region during this period. However, items like jacket and long pants saw a down trend in these nine months.

Among all the products, fabric exports stood at top in term of value, totaling to $12.1 million, displaying year–on–year growth of around 55 percent. This accounted for 20 percent of VietNam's total export turnover for textile and apparel products to Korea.
