Thread import yarns high growth

Recently, an official source from Vietnamese General Customs Department said that during the first ten months of this year, country's textile and apparel enterprises have spent around US $40 million for importing thread, posting a 32.7 percent growth in comparison with same period last year.

The country imported thread from around 49 countries across the world. Among all supplying nations, Korea remained the largest, with total shipments worth $14.9 million, accounting for 37.3 percent of total thread imports turnover of Vietnam.

Other major merchants include Japan, contributing the raw material worth $9.3 million, up by 51.6 percent and accounting for 23.2 percent, China at $6.3 million, obtaining a growth of 28.7 percent and accounting for 15.8 percent of the country's total import.

In the same line, the figures from Hong Kong stood at $4.9 million, soaring 19.5 percent against corresponding period, last year.
