The Ministry of Industry and Trade recently reported that in the first ten months of 2007 the country imported 1,60,000 tons of fiber from Taiwan. The figure represented year–on-year growth of 10 percent.
Among all the markets, Taiwan remained the largest supplier of the products for Vietnamese textile and apparel industry, as the imports statistics from this territory accounted for 46 percent of total imports turnover.
Another main supplier for the country is Thailand, which shipped 55,000 tons of fibre to Vietnam during the period from January to October, up by 87 percent over same period 2006.
