MOIT sets optimistic export target for US market

Recently, Ministry of Industry and Trade announced its targets to earn revenue of US $58 billion for the coming year. Of this, exports to the US market is expected to reach $13.1 billion. This is around 28 percent higher than that in 2007.

The country has dared to set an optimistic target as in recent years shipments of textile and garment, wooden furniture among other products to this market has shown a considerable growth.

Of the total exporting products, textile and apparel alone are expected to fetch $5.4 billion, with a 25.6 percent boost and US accounts for 55 percent of Vietnam's textile and garment shipments.
