According to the latest statistics provided by customs, in December 2007, China exported 463.46 million meters of polyester filament fabrics down 3.98 percent from the previous month, and 5.80 percent from the same time of last year.
In this month, price of polyester filament fabrics averaged at US $0.80 per meter, showing a slight fall of 1.58 percent from the previous month, up 3.70 percent from the same period last year.
China's total exports of polyester filament fabrics in 2007 reached over 5.6 billion meters, a boost of 3.73 percent from 2006.
On the other hand, country's imports of polyester filament fabrics in December registered around 73 million meters, a decline of 9.54 percent from November and representing a year-on-year drop of 18.06 percent. December import price averaged at $1.35 per meter, up 6.49 percent from the previous month and an increase of 14.79 percent from the same time of last year.
In 2007 China's total imports of polyester filament fabrics were 889.18 million meters, a plunge of 8.31 percent from 2006 with average import price quoted at $1.21 per meter, representing a rise of 12.48 percent.
