Textile & garment export witnesses sharp rise

In the first two months of 2008, Southern Binh Duong Province exported around US $114.4 million worth of textile and garment products, a year–on–year increase of 2.7 percent, and remained on third place among top exporting products.

The footwear industry is enjoying same trend, as exports turnover of the province fetched $114.6 million, demonstrating a rise of nearly 14.9 percent, over same period of 2007.

Other major products saw a growth includes handicrafts with a revenue of $40.1 million, up by nearly 33.8 percent and woodwork witnessed a rise of 29.3 percent reaching $197 million.

During January and February, enterprises from the region, earned approximately $906.3 million through exports turnover of all products, showing a year–on–year boost of 25 percent.

Key export markets of Southern Binh Duong Province include China, Germany, Netherlands, Japan, Korea, UK and US.
