People's committee of Long An, located in the southern part of Vietnam, recently reported that in the first quarter 2008, the province reaped US$ 200 million from exporting its products, soaring to 40.25 percent in comparison with same period 2007.

Key export products of the province include textile and garment, footwear along with other commodities.

Experts believe that the region could achieve such rosy figures due to huge support extended by its Department of Trade, which has helped local enterprises to seek newer markets especially in Europe and Asia and expand trade in these regions.
