Textile industry relies largely on fabric import

A recently released report from the Ministry of Industry and Trade shows that the country imported fabrics worth US $516.42 million in the first two months 2008.

Of the total imports, purchases from China reached $158.67 million, to make it the biggest supplier of fabrics for the textile and apparel industry of Vietnam.

Other major providers include Taiwan and Japan, selling fabrics worth $96.57 and $49.2 millions to the country.
