Footwear export moves up in Q1

Exports statistic released by Ministry of Industry and Trade shows that in the month of March, Vietnamese footwear industry reaped US $316.99 million from exports. With this figure, the foreign currency earnings for the country in the first quarter reached $1.025 billion, depicting a 14.6 percent growth in comparison to similar period 2007.

During the period, United States remained the biggest clients of the industry with turnover of $227.54 million.

Standing at the second place, UK accounted for $130.30 million, followed by Germany for $93.86 million and Belgium for $77.30 million.
