In the first half of 2008, exports turnover of Vinh Phuc Province reached nearly US $203.612 million, representing a year-on-year rise of 30.4 percent.
Textile and garment sector made maximum contribution in the total overseas earnings during this period. The sector brought revenue worth $85.824 million, a year-on-year rise of 34.2 percent and remained the largest exporting product of the Province.
Other major foreign currency generating items include, footwear that fetched almost $5.644 million and wooden artifacts brought $21.489 million of revenue for the nation.
In return, enterprises of Vinh Phuc had to spend approximately $697.205 million on importing various items including equipments for local production.
