Zhejinag exports rise amid sluggish trend

Although overall exports of China have been weakening since the beginning of this year, that of Zhejinag Province still recorded a steady growth.

According to the statistics, in the first half of this year, the total import and export value of the province was US $102.39 billion, up 27 percent from the same period of last year.

Zhejiang registered second highest export value among all provinces at $73.1 billion, with year-on-year rise of 26.1 percent. Shandong Province bagged the top export value.

Among all products, export of clothing climbed 18.9 percent; of toys and shoes products also saw slight increase.

Textile exports marked a surge of 35.9 percent, especially because the EU textiles quota was cancelled and new overseas markets opened up.

Besides, the export of private enterprises showed considerable jump of 34.9 percent to reach $37.04 billion. The export of foreign-fund and state-owned enterprises augmented by 21.6 percent and 9.4 percent, respectively.
