According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Vietnam earned US $71.44 million from exporting to Canada in August 2008. Textile and garment products exported to this market fetched near about $20.55 million, accounting for 28.76 percent of the total export value.
Footwear worth $10.69 million was also exported to the region.
In the past 8 months, Vietnam exported textile and garment products and footwear along with other commodities to Canada. The total export value reached $436.56 million.
In the period from January to August, textile and garment products topped the list of key export commodities. Its export value reached $116.55 million, making up almost 26.69 percent of the total export value.
