Bi-lateral trade with US surges

In spite of the fact that global recession is taking its toll on almost every aspect of life, especially on economic relations between countries, Vietnam – US bilateral trade has still earned strong growth in the first ten months of this year.

Available data show that the figures stood at US $12.869 billion, depicting a surge by 27.9 percent over similar period pervious year.

Of the sum, Vietnam's exports turnover to the US reached nearly $10.529 billion, increasing 21.3 percent year–on–year, equivalent to the figures of whole 2007.

Key products shipped to the US include textile and garment for $4.471 billion, up 22.54 percent; woodwork for $1.186 billion soaring 19.3 percent; footwear worth $1 billion was also exported to the US.
