Exports of raw silk crash lands in January-April

According to Customs statistics, China's total raw silk exports amounted to 2,618 tons in the first four months of 2009, a year-on-year decline of 43.9 percent.

Total export value of the raw silk touched US $59 million, a year-on-year drop of 46.6 percent. April exports clocked 534 tons, totaling to $12 million.
