Textiles can increase bi-lateral trade with Pakistan

The potential of bi-lateral trade between has the potential to reach US $600 million from the current $400 million, said the Commercial Counselor, Embassy of Pakistan in Iran, Mr Jadoon, while meeting a delegation of representatives of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI).

He said the main hurdle in development of bi-lateral trade between the two countries were banking sanctions and opening of Letter of Credit and that he had discussed the issue with the Governor of the State Bank of Pakistan in detail.

The President of FPCCI, Mr Sultan Ahmed Chawla said that textile and bed linen products carry very high potential in Kish Island of Iran which is a tax-free zone as well as a tourist destination and suggested that textile companies should open offices and store outlets on Kish Island.
