Narrow decline in exports from labour intensive sectors

China's exports from labour-intensive sectors saw significantly narrow decline than overall drop of exports during the first eight months of this year. The decline rate was less than the general decline of 22.2 percent of overall exports.

Among them, exports of clothing and accessories were down by 10.4 down year on year, footwear exports declined by 5.8 percent; exports of textile yarn and fabrics fell by 14.9 percent year on year and bag exports were also down 9.4 percent.

Furniture exports were down 9.4 percent year on year; plastic products fell by 8.1 percent and toy exports declined by 12.2 percent year on year.
