Mr Waqar Alam, Chairman of the Towel Manufacturers' Association (TMA) said that exporters were given benefit of zero rating in five sectors, but the towel manufacturers were excluded from the same.
He said that, huge amounts of refunds were struck up for several long months which were unnecessarily blocking working capital of the exporters from the sector and requested the government to implement zero rating on VAT for towel exporters.
He demanded from the government that the same procedure as prevalent in GST scheme may be continued if VAT is imposed and zero rating to the exporting sector is allowed.
