EU recalls China-make fire-proof blankets

The European Union on recommendations from one of its member country; Belgium has suggested a voluntary recall of a fire-proof blanket, which is being currently sold under the brand-name of Vandeputte – Flamstop and made in China.

According to the complaint given by Belgium, the fire-proof blanket which carries the product code 1062421500018 carries risks of burning and the blanket can catch fire 32 seconds after it catches fire.

It adds by saying that, the product may burn the user or threaten to ignite any burning objects around it, once a fire breaks out and that the product does not comply with the relevant European standard EN 1869.

The European Union has suggested a voluntary recall of these blankets from consumers and from the stores, to avoid fire hazards.
