Vietnamese trade deficit highest with China

Vietnam's trade deficit was about US $4.65 billion in the first four months of this year, accounting for 23.1 percent of its total exports.

Of this, China accounted for 75.4 percent of its total deficit, according to the statistics of Vietnamese Ministry of Industry and Trade,

Vietnam's imports of main commodities from China are raw materials to be used in production of textiles and footwear.

Vietnam's imports of these goods in the first four months increased by 31.5 percent year on year, accounting for 80 percent of total imports.

Other imports under control and limitation from China were few, which had little impact on trade deficit.
