Cotton yarn & fabric export/import down in Feb

In February, China's imports of cotton yarn declined by 43.93 percent while exports of cotton yarn fell by 34.78 percent compared to the previous month.

On year to year basis, imports of cotton yarn registered a 10.88 percent drop, while exports registered a 9.72 percent descent.

In the month, China imported 55,500 tons of cotton yarn and exported 25,200 tons of cotton yarn.

In cotton fabrics, foreign trade too witnessed negative growth. China exported 309 million meters cotton fabrics in February 2011, down 56.05 percent from the previous month and 32.68 down percent on year to year basis.

On the other hand, China imported 42.00 million meters cotton fabrics, registering a decline of 26.60 percent from the previous month but 0.56 percent more, on year to year basis.
