Chinese home textiles exports marginally up

China's home textile exports reached US $2.59 billion in February; up a marginal 2.2 percent year on year, average export price was US $1.4 / piece, an increase of 14.2 percent.

Export prices of bedding, towels and decorative products grew by 16.7 -30.3 percent. Among six categories, bed linen and towel products maintained growth at 4.1 percent and 6.7 percent, respectively, while other merchandise showed a declining trend by 0.6 -3.5 percent.

Home textile exports to the United States and the European Union decreased slightly, export value registered US $690 million and US $530 million, respectively, down 1.8 percent and 0.24 percent.

Exports to Japan grew rapidly; export value fetched US $330 million, an increase of 23 percent year on year.
