In a symbiotic agreement, China and Pakistan announced first list of products of free trade between them. This agreement will be put into effect from January 1, 2006.

With major textile products like cotton fabric, blended cotton fabric and man-made fabric, China decided to levy zero import duties on 769 items.

In response, Pakistan will not impose duty on 486 products from January 1. With gradual inclusion of other goods, textile machinery dominates Chinese product list.

This agreement could boost Pakistani cotton fabric exports to China.

Imports of cotton fabric from Pakistan will avert China's import tax structure, now in place for raw cotton.
