US imports of Chinese textiles & garments up in 2011

US imports of Chinese textile and apparel reached US $2.73 billion in April, an increase of 28.6 percent year on year.

Of which, textile imports scored US $810 million and apparel imports marked US $1.93 billion, up, 25.7 percent and 29.8 percent, respectively, year on year.

From January to April this year, US textile and apparel imports from China totaled US $9.48 billion, a rise of 16.8 percent year on year, representing the smallest increase among China's major export markets.

Of which, textile imports fetched US $2.73 billion, a hike of 16.2 percent year on year and apparel imports touched US $6.75 billion, an increase of 17.1 percent year on year.
