Philippines' seasonally-adjusted Aug exports up 4.4% MoM to $6.49 bn

The Philippines’ seasonally-adjusted exports were worth $6.49 billion in August this year—a rise of 4.4 per cent from $6.22 billion in July. The seasonally-adjusted exports of manufactured goods were worth $5.35 billion—an increase of 6.8 per cent from $5.01 billion in the previous month.

Seasonally-adjusted total imports in August were worth $10.38 billion—a rise of 1.2 per cent from the $10.26 billion value in July. The figure for consumer goods import during the month was $2.10 billion—a rise of 1.2 per cent from $2.08 billion in July.

The seasonally-adjusted imports of raw materials and intermediate goods were worth $3.56 billion—a month-on-month decline of 3.7 per cent.

Seasonal factors, such as the degree of the demand for selected major types of goods during the period, pushed up the total value of exports and imports, the Philippines Statistics Authority said in a release.
