The two-way Egypt-Vietnam trade value of $470 million last year does not correctly reflect the bilateral trade potential and therefore, the two sides need to resolve outstanding issues to further push up trade, Tran Thanh Binh, a senior official of the Vietnamese ministry of industry and trade (MoIT) said recently at a conference in Cairo.

The December 2 conference was organised by MoIT and the Egyptian Businessmen Association (EBA) to explore business potential and scope in the field of commodities and logistics.

EBA chief executive officer Mohamed Youssef told a news agency that the two countries should try to bring two-way trade to $1 billion in future.
