Bangladesh’s Chittagong Port Authority (CPA) and the Port Authority of Thailand (Ranong Port) recently signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to enhance maritime connectivity in the Bay of Bengal to raise bilateral trade. The MoU will encourage business communities of both sides to further explore trade and investment opportunities as bilateral trade stands at $1.2 billion, with Thailand enjoying trade surplus.

Both port authorities would benefit through the exchange of information and cooperation in port management, operations, information technology, communication, port connectivity, coastal shipping, port-related industry and investment promotion, said an official release in Bangladesh.
