China's investments in roadway, waterway up 9.5% YoY in Jan-Oct 2022

China’s fixed-asset investment in road and waterway transport showed a 9.5 per cent year-on-year (YoY) growth, adding up to about 2.47 trillion yuan (around $345 billion) from January to October 2022 as per government data.

The East Asian nation’s inland waterway investment jumped 9.2 per cent YoY to 63.4 billion yuan during the first ten months of 2022. There was a surge of 8.2 per cent YoY in coastal waterway investment—totalling 65.2 billion yuan, said the country’s ministry of transport.

Moreover, China invested up to 2.34 trillion yuan in road transport, a 9.6 per cent YoY increase.
