A freight train carrying 100 twenty-foot equivalent unit (TEU) containers recently left Hefei, capital of east China's Anhui province, for Budapest, marking the first trip between the two cities. Anhui launched the first China-Europe freight train route in 2014. Since then, more than 2,500 such train trips have been made linking the province with 85 cities across 18 nations.

Products manufactured in Anhui like solar panel components, electric machines and inverters with a total worth of around $10 million are expected to arrive in Budapest in 16 to 18 days by this train after covering over 10,800 km, according to an official news agency.
