India Post partners with Shiprocket; to benefit start-ups, SMEs

India Post, the Indian government-run postal service provider, recently announced a partnership with logistics aggregator Shiprocket to enhance the latter’s last-mile delivery services for various e-commerce products.

The memorandum of understanding (MoU) regarding this was signed between India Post, Shiprocket & Pickrr, an e-commerce logistics solution and shipping software provider, in New Delhi.

Shiprocket co-founder and chief executive officer Saahil Goel said the India Post network will offer last-mile connectivity to it and facilitate in the penetration of e-commerce services beyond large cities and towns.

It would enable automated shipping and faster delivery for merchants, resulting in cost-effectiveness and business growth, he was quoted as saying by a government press release.

Bigfoot Retail Solutions (Shiprocket) is an emerging logistics aggregator company with three lakh sellers and 70 million consumers annually. This partnership will offer shipping and last-mile delivery services to Shiprocket's three lakh strong seller base, which includes start-ups and a large number of small and medium businesses.
