Freight train services between China and Europe grew by 22 per cent year-over-year to reach over 15,000 in 2021, according to data shared by the country’s national railway operator China State Railway Group. The growing number of freight train services between the two regions has contributed towards stabilising the global supply chains amid the pandemic.The total number of containers carried by these freight trains amounted to 1.46 million, a 29 per cent increase compared to the previous year.
Cross-border cargo services have contributed towards combating the coronavirus as well as stabilising the supply chains globally, according to the China State Railway Group.
