Vietnam’s freight transport was estimated at close to 191 million tonnes in February this year—up by 27.8 per cent year on year (YoY), according to the transport ministry, which recently said aviation led the growth with a rate of 50 per cent, followed by waterways with 43 per cent, road with 24.6 per cent and navigation with 17.6 per cent.

The volume of goods transported by rail, however, fell by 7.5 per cent, Vietnamese media outlets reported.

The ministry will promote the application of information technology in transport management this month and effectively exploit data from cruise monitoring devices of transport business vehicles.
