Textile factory fire took toll of about 51 people, mostly women, media informed.
The fire broke out last night when around 500 workers working in KTS Composite Textile factory in southeastern city of Chittagong.
Explaining the cause of fire, mill official said that electric short circuit ignited the blaze leaving more than 100 injured.
The situation worsened due to stacks of yarn, which helped fire spread quickly through the four-storey building and victims were stuck inside.
It was difficult to control the flames as the main entrance to the factory was locked and firefighters had to rescue trapped workers by breaking windows and using ropes.
Army also joined the rescue operations because many workers had started jumping from the third floor of the building to escape flames.
