Prices of viscose staple fibres (VSF) have been on a declining trend, since the beginning of the new fiscal year in April.

Grasim Industries, a major producer of VSF has reduced the price of 1.5D to Rs 136 per kg, while 1.2D is now available at Rs 138 per kg.

Since April, VSF prices have fallen by Rs 19 per kg. In the first week of April 2011, 1.5D was quoted at Rs. 159 per kg, against which today it is being offered at Rs 136 per kg, down 14.46 percent.

VSF producers are reducing prices in order to perk up the sale of the fibre, which has been sagging in recent days.
