Chinese textiles prices decline in Q2

Prices of cotton, fibres, yarn and fabrics decreased in Chinese domestic market during April-June period of 2012 due to various adverse factors.
 
Prices of various textile products at the end of the second quarter were significantly lower when compared to their prices at the beginning of the quarter.
 
The price of polyester staple fibre (PSF) declined the most by 15.18 percent in three months period to 1700 Yuan/ton.
 
The price of cotton dipped by 1300 Yuan/ton or 6.67 percent, while that of viscose staple fibre (VSF) fell by 1250 Yuan/ton or 7.89 percent, polyester/cotton yarn by 1300 Yuan/ton or 5.94 percent and rayon yarn by 1000 Yuan/ton or 5.05 percent.
 
The average price of cotton fabrics plummeted by 0.2 Yuan/metre, down 3.77 percent, whereas the price of polyester/cotton fabrics decreased by 0.3 Yuan/metre or 5.56 percent, and that of rayon fabrics by 0.2 Yuan/metre or 3.64 percent during the quarter.
