Blue Dart, the courier and integrated air express package distribution company, plans to set up additional 45 facilities in India this year involving an investment of Rs 25 crore, informed Malcolm Monteiro, Managing Director.
He said the company aimed to add 121,645 square feet facility area in India in 2006 to the present 600,000 square feet, as part of its expansion plan.
The company earned revenues worth Rs 536 crore during January to December 2005 period, recording a growth of 24 percent.
Air support in India comprises of five Boeing 737 freighters of which two are company owned and three on lease with plans to add one more this year by either acquiring a Boeing freighter or taking it on lease, Monteiro said.
Blue Dart claims it has a market share of 39 percent in organised domestic express industry estimated to be around Rs 1,100 crore, said Monteiro.
