TN State textile industry puts up impressive performance

The Southern Indian State of Tamil Nadu has recorded giant strides in information technology sector in earning foreign exchange and billing to the tune of 20 percent and 30 percent, respectively.
Textiles export rose 25-30 percent, and auto component industry will keep on improving the industrial growth, infers a study on business outlook survey conducted by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) - Southern Region.
The IT sector is likely to perform well in the first-half of the fiscal 2006-2007 according to the study.
Textile industry performance throughout October 2005-March 2006 was good in terms of exports, which grew by 25-30 percent.
