Carcinogenic fabrics pose threat to children's skin in Guangdong

Children are bearing the brunt of callousness shown by clothing manufacturers in Guangdong Province, as recently in some supermarkets, kids' clothing has been found to contain carcinogenic materials causing skin cancer.

Even the famous brand Betty and e-baby are alleged to carry such clothing materials.

When Fabric Inspection Centre (FIC) launched investigation, only 34.1 percent of children clothing in Guangdong was found wearable.

Director of FIC held that high inspection cost and irresponsible attitude of enterprises was responsible for this.

The Director also added that manufacturers and sales agents should share costs of fabric inspection.
